Dawnesha ‘Nesha Nycee, Williams, born March 6th in Saint Louis, MO and raised in Atlanta, GA, started rapping at 9 years old as an outlet to escape from real life struggles. According to Nesha, “Music didn’t judge me; it allowed me to put my thoughts on paper—it was a blank canvas painted with my words.” Those words would become lyrics and her voice would be heard around the city winning MC battles and being crowned the ‘undefeated champ’ of V103’s Rip the Mic. Her achievements led to opening performances for The Dungeon Family, Lil Kim, KMichelle, Monica, Ciara, Kap G, Scotty ATL and Young MA, to name a few. Nesha was also featured in a screening of “Street Dreams, The Road to A3C” as the only female independent artist amongst a cast of major recording hip hop artists and in Fresh Empire’s Tobacco Free commercial alongside comedian Emmanuel Hudson. A lyrical queen and a force to be reckoned with in the female hip hop movement, Nesha’s style is refreshing, energetic, honest and inspirational. According to Nesha, “I believe in substance and giving listeners something that will feed their soul. I don't go for the trendy commercial approach. I want to be at the cutting edge of inspired creativity and for my fans to feel the rush of adrenalin that I get when I'm writing, recording and producing music…It’s a natural high.”
